I’m running my current campaign in person and uses a VTT at the table through a TV pluged in as a secondary monitor.
I’ve tried and look at multiple of VTT system, and decided to go forth with RealmVTT, mainly for it’s Dynamic vision and lightning that are really simple to work with and have great performance.
One thing I would like is that when I assign multiple PC to my “guess” user, that it would show by default vision for all the tokens at the same time.
For now by default it shows none, I can select individual token to get their vision one by one, but when I select multiple tokens I have mixed result, and it doesn’t last. I soon as I click anywhere the selection is removed and then we can’t see anything.
I know that the party should never split, but players tend to do crazy things.
Another related improvement would be that when in encounter mode, when the character turn change, the token get automatically selected and shows that player vision.
Keep up the great work
Hi thank you so much and thanks for the great feedback!
Yes - you have that correct for now - players can by default only see “through” the token they have selected. And can see the location of all friendly tokens so that they can click on another and see through that token’s “eyes”.
I like your idea of having a the current turn select/move to the token. That could be a setting I add to allow turning that on / off (which would be especially useful in your case for in-person games.) I’ll let you know when I’ve got something for you to test out!
Ok! I’m adding this feature here:
You’ll see this option in your settings under Controls. It is a per-player option (so you’ll probably want to set it on your GM and your Player account.) It will pan the screen to the active token. (For Player views, it won’t pan to enemy / neutral tokens, so as not to reveal hidden enemies or enemies out of sight.)
For your first issue - you’ll want to select “Pan to and select active combatant” so they see through that token’s vision. This should help with that confusion somewhat!
Wow didn’t expect to go to sleep and come back with the feature implemented lol.
My next game is in two weeks, I’ll let you know how it went.
